Welcome to my Mopar site!

This site is a page to showcase the restoration of my 1974 Dodge Dart Sport. I also have a few pics of some of my friend's cars, both mopar and non-mopar. The links page has a little of everything including forum sites, tech articles, and links to venders. The forum page is kind of a mess right now, but should be fixed shortly. I hope this site will be usefull to other Mopar enthusiasts.

Wanings about site

You must have an up to date browser when viewing this site. Most of this site might not be to dail-up friendly. I am on a cable conection so sometimes I get carried away with the number of pics per page. There are lots of pics here. Even though I downsized most of my pics a lot of them are still around the 90K.

Lastly I am not a big fan of Microsoft Internet Explorer, so users of this browser may see many glitches in my site. I try to test it with IE to make sure it doesn't look to bad, but I don't lose sleep if IE users have problems. The internet is based on standards and guildlines for programming sites and how sites should be viewed, W3C HTML 4.0. For some reason Microsoft refuses to follow the these standards and make up its own. For best results Mozilla or Firefox work best.

History

The Dart Sport is an original California car and was in excellent shape when I bought it in August of 2001. Supposedly I am the fourth owner of the car. The cars body is in good condition just a little rust in the corners of the rear passenger rear wheel well. The interior is in excellent shape except for the drivers side of the bench seat. Motor was still very healthy. The only thing that needed attention was the front suspension.

The Dart Sport orignally came with a slant six and automatic tranny. It also had a 7 1/4 rear end with 2.76 gears. It has a factory front sway bar and Disc brakes on the front. It is aso factory air car. The interior color is black with a bench front seat. My car seems to lack the factory sun roof and fold down back seat thats a lot of other Dart sports seem to have.

Work done to date

The first thing I did the the car was to to rebuild the front suspension. It was in very sorry shape, front tires toed in big time and rubbed down to the belts. Where the lower control arms go into the K frame was all worn away. It literally looked like someone was trying to drive the wheels off the thing.

Soon after I upgraded it to a 360 and 904 tranny. Than soon after that I upgraded both to higher performance 360 (pictured left) and street/ strip 904. More detailed information on engine build up and tranny can be found later in this site.
